The country’s first homegrown lifestyle delivery app just got launched!
PICK.A.ROO, an all-in-one, on-demand premium lifestyle delivery app, happens to be the first start-up investment of Megaworld’s newly-launched digital investment arm AGILE Digital Ventures. The app offers convenience like no other where customers can purchase products ranging from food, gadgets, hardware, kitchenware, children’s toys and stuff, pet care, personal care, medicines, office and school supplies, hotel dishes, liquor, to COVID-19 essentials, from over 300 local and international merchants. Orders may either be delivered on-demand, or on a later schedule.
Customers may choose for regular delivery, drive-through, or takeaway pick-up for their orders.
The closed beta version of PICK.A.ROO was made available on August 8 for the first 188 invite-only users exclusively. This safe, hygienic, and contact-free delivery service brings only the best brands and products they love straight from the store to their doors.
“Our main goal is to help retailers smoothly migrate to the digital platform especially during this challenging time. Since 2018, we have been looking for investment opportunities on an app that will enable our retail partners sell and deliver their products online and on-demand. We have talked to several potential partners, but eventually, we decided to build our own,” reveals Kevin L. Tan, Megaworld’s chief strategy officer and president of AGILE Digital Ventures, Inc.
Included in the growing list of PICK.A.ROO-approved establishments and brands are Central by Landers Supermarket, S&R, Manila Marriott Hotel, Sheraton Manila, Shangri-La at the Fort, Tim Ho Wan, Kam’s Roast, Hawker Chan and Tsuta, The Grid, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, Paradise Dynasty, Las Flores, The Test Kitchen by Chef Josh Boutwood, The Parenting Emporium, Mothercare, Bodum, Gourdo’s, Joseph Joseph, MedExpress, Beyond the Box, and a Farm-to-Table initiative through Pickaroo’s Fresh Buys, among others.
After downloading the PICK.A.ROO app on iOS or Android, users can quickly sign up by using their mobile numbers. The app’s easy-to-use interface is designed to suit all customers in need of the service, whatever age they may be. Users can also select their preferred mode of communication: Viber, WhatsApp, SMS. Voice call from our PICK.A.ROO shoppers or riders are also available, as well as access to the live chat concierge in-app.
PICK.A.ROO riders and shoppers undergo strict safety and sanitation protocols which include rapid testing, thermal scanner checks, thorough disinfection of delivery bags, including the provision of clinical-grade face shields and masks.
“We started from scratch to build our first start-up brand. Aside from the technology itself, we put focus on operations which will be integral to the success of every brand that we create,” adds Tan.
Starting August 18, 2020, PICK.A.ROO will be opening up the app to more users in key cities in Metro Manila.
