The country’s battle against COVID-19 has highlighted how unity, compassion and innovation can help all of us survive and win against the global pandemic.
For “continuing to create economic opportunities, propelling unprecedented growth, and development in the country, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic,” Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI) Chairman Dr. Andrew L. Tan was awarded the Global Excellence Corporate Award by the International Chamber of Commerce-Philippines (ICCP) during the recently concluded 46th Philippine Business Conference and Expo virtual event.
AGI companies have greatly helped the cause of the nation in “mitigating the impact of the pandemic, not only to both employees and businesses alike but more so to the less fortunate of our brothers and sisters in the society.” The group’s initiatives form part of various donations and projects spearheaded by AGI since the start of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon back in March.
AGI’s commitment to helping create a better life for Filipinos has transcended the realm of business. The group has also created impactful change in society through its unrelenting efforts and initiatives in helping keep urban poor families afloat during these distressing times, as well as supporting the Philippine government in responding more effectively to the pandemic.
“Through the company’s efforts to increase the country’s testing capacity and improve diagnostic systems by the establishment of COVID-19 laboratories, provision for the needs of the masses by means of sponsoring programs such as Project Ugnayan and the McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen, which fed thousands of urban poor families, and support for frontliners, government programs, and local businesses through financial and material donations, the company continues to contribute and sustain the Philippine economy throughout extraordinary times,” read the ICCP citation.
